Lituus

“Vases supporting the lifespan of every flower”

Lituus, a new series of sculptural vases, was created in collaboration with Georg Jensen. I wanted to merge artistic expression with functionality, crafting objects that not only celebrate the beauty of nature but also extend the life of the flowers they embrace.

Lituus draws inspiration from the inherent rhythms and cycles of nature. Just as every flower follows its own mathematical progression – from budding to full bloom and eventually wilting – I sought to design a vase that honors this natural evolution.

The form of each vase is defined by its dynamic lines and diagonal, tubular shapes, which work together to support and enhance the natural movement of the flowers. Much like the way flowers gracefully turn toward the sun, the interplay of light and form in Lituus creates a living, evolving sculpture.

I named the collection Lituus after a mathematical spiral – a nod to the idea that while nature can be unpredictable, it also unfolds according to its own intrinsic formulas. This balance between order and spontaneity is at the heart of my work. I believe that true design is about making simplicity both beautiful and functional, and with Lituus, I have sought to create vases that do just that: elevate the everyday ritual of bringing flowers into our homes.

This project represents another chapter in my ongoing journey of transforming complex ideas into intuitive, timeless designs. My collaboration with Georg Jensen began in the summer of 2024 with the sterling silver wall piece Intoo, and it has been a profound pleasure to continue exploring the intersections of art, nature, and craft.
