The Levitate Daybed is a multifunctional daybed and sofa designed for compact living. Originally conceived for Danmarks Næste Klassiker 2020 competition, it was recognized for its efficient use of materials, comfort, and integrated functions.

Featuring a mirrored finish that creates a floating illusion, the structure seems to vanish into the space, evoking the sensation of sitting on a light, airy cloud. The movable backrests allow for versatile seating arrangements and, when fully retracted, the piece converts into a bed.

A multifunctional side table acts as a table, armrest, or backrest and includes a discreet storage compartment. Additional storage is cleverly integrated beneath the mattress.

Drawing on ten years of experience with Erik Jørgensen Møbelfabrik, my aim was to create a compact yet fully functional sofa that balances aesthetics and comfort. The combination of glossy mirror material, Nordic oak, and warm wool textiles delivers a timeless elegance designed to endure.
